One of my all time favourite people in the universe – I loved spending time in his home. It’s just like he is – colourful, crazy and full of love.
Hands down our favourite Durban eatery- definitely not the ‘casual grab a bite’ place – more the ‘special supper graze slowly and catch up on the weeks events’. It must be on your to-eats if you’re an out of towner. If you an in-towner – call them. book.take nice person/s.eat.laugh.eat.be happy.nice!
Menswear fanatics hold onto your hats- Nev has just launched Mister Trickett- a digital precursor to an insane limited edition range of menswear in collaboration with Mr Price in stores later on this year! A shining light in the dearth of cool menswear inspiration out there!
Have admired Mahlatse’s style at almost every fashion week I’ve ever been to. So excited to have him share his 15 things.
Check out Mahlatse’s blog here.
The beloved and our bestie have a cool evening at Craft recently. I always love all their quirky touches.
Finally got hold of Cassie who makes these INSANE rope necklaces (and cuffs & belts)- The colours are too incredible for words! Think neon orange, day glo yellow and every shade in between- YOU HAVE TO mail her and order one NOW!!!! firstname.lastname@example.org. She has a stand an the I HEART for Durbanites.
DURBANITES LISTEN UP! Eat Greek does the MOST insane buffet spread on the last Sunday of every month at the Hellenic Hall in Durban North. Let me just tell you though- there is no need to eat for a full 3 days leading up to this lunch and perhaps even for 3 days after- you will feel very ill and it will be very worth it. What is it about a buffet that does that? I was too busy chewing to take any pics so this is purely an illustration courtesy of Souvlaki for the Soul. Make a plan- you cannot miss out!
My friend Traci suggested I go and check out these rope necklaces she had seen at I Heart Market- Found this most beautiful teal number and totally adore it! The lass who made them looked rather scared when I asked for her contact details and pulled a ‘don’t call me I’ll call you’ maneuver so sorry for the lack of details but make a trip to see her stuff Durbanites- really worth a look! I’m dreaming of a hot pink and orange version…
I have always been fascinated by the power clothes have to change the way you feel about yourself, modern day armour some days and on others a flamboyant outward expression of your personality. I studied design to try and learn how to harness that power.
These days I work in the fashion industry in Durban, have an unhealthy magazine addiction, obsess about most things, am married to the man of my dreams, read too many blogs, have a bulldog named Dennis and now blog about the things that inspire and excite me.
